Ready to work.
Derek finished putting my desk together. Yea! I now have desk space to spare. The bookcases are set up, my dagger collection is mounted on one of the walls, posters and prints from my favorite swashbuckling movies are on the other walls, and my favorite pair of rapiers are leaning against my desk.
I'm good to go.
Derek is downstairs, so Gracie the Greyhound doesn't feel the need to be upstairs with me. In addition to Gracie and Lucy (the Jack Russell), we have two cats: Boris and Natasha. Yep, I named Raine's cat after my own kitty, and Natasha is in Magic Lost, Trouble Found, too. I used her name as the proprietor/madam of the Joy Garden, which is Phaelan's favorite stop on his first night in port. ; ) Natasha (aka Princess Kitty) is fluffy, prissy and quite the tartlet. "Madam Natasha" was definitely a good fit.
Here are some pics of the pack:

My plan is to blog every day of the week, and take Saturday and Sunday off. (At least from blogging.) Saturday and Sunday are two of my biggest writing days of the week. And once the edits for Armed & Magical (A&M) come in from my editor, I'll go into full lock-down mode up here in my office. I pretty much come out only for water and bowls of cereal (my ultimate writing snack).
Derek will step in and guest blog at my busiest writing times. We thought it'd be fun to give everyone a look-see into what it's like for a normal person (that would be Derek), to live with an obsessive/compulsive, perfectionist, workaholic author (guilty as charged).
The blog needs a few technical tweaks, but I'll give my web guru (the new dad) a few days to maybe get SOME sleep before I bother him with my paltry techie issues.
Until tomorrow.

Wow -- daggers? Rapiers? It doesn't sound like you are kidding! Maybe I should get an old-fashioned cap-and-ball revolver to allow myself to steep into my character as you apparently have.
Derek and I fenced for years. My Olympic fencing weapons of choice were foil and epee. Derek did those as well as saber. We both got into the rapier and dagger stuff. Check out the pics on my site's Photo page.
I love swords of all kinds, from rapiers to lightsabers. I always have swords in my stories. One day, I will fence too!
KITTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I made it over here. Oh, they're gorgeous!
Daq & Doozy send whisker kisses. OE the Duck couldn't care less. ;-) ~Linnea
