Review of The Trouble with Demons!

I've gotten my first review of The Trouble with Demons and it is awesome! (Yes, there was squeeing involved).

It will appear in the May issue of Romantic Times BOOKreviews magazine. For those of you going to the RT Convention, it'll be included in your bag when you register. For everyone else, this is a great magazine to get if you love books ranging from full romance to just a taste -- they review all genres. About 300 books are reviewed each month. Great place to find new additions to your TBR stack.

The Trouble with Demons received 4.5 stars (their highest ranking), and has been selected as a TOP PICK! (their highest honor) for May. I am SO thrilled!

The reviewer at RT was Jill M. Smith, and here's what she had to say:

Demons, demons everywhere -- and they're really ticking off the indomitable Raine Benares. Fans can rejoice as uber-talented Shearin dishes up more hilarious mayhem. Snappy dialogue, great pacing and two seriously sexy heroes ensure hours of nonstop pleasure. Raine is sassy and irreverent, and this book is an auto-buy!

SUMMARY: Despite having saved lives during a recent violent attempt to steal the enormously dangerous Saghred, seeker Raine can feel a theoretical noose tightening. Because she's reluctantly bonded with the Saghred and its power, various factions of elves, goblins and demons all want her dead or in their control. Besides her infamous pirate family, the only people Raine trusts are paladin Mychael Eiliesor and goblin dark mage Tamnais Nathrach. The ties between the three get really complicated when they're inadvertently magically bonded. When someone opens a hellgate and demons start invading, Raine knows she and the Saghred are the primary targets. If any of them are to survive, Raine is going to have to think quickly!

Sounds like you've made it, Lisa! Of all the authors I've reviewed at Fantasy Debut, you are one of the most successful--and one of the few that consistently remain on bookstore shelves.

:) Hope you don't stop smiling for a while, and the news defeats the germs you're enduring, and spurs you on in the last stretch of writing!

It kinda says what we already knew. Yay to be officially recognised as the author of awesome books! :)

(much squeeling across the pond!)

That's wonderful! Congratulations Lisa! 'ubertalented" yay! We already knew that, but it's good to have someone else say it...

Magically Bonded. Magically Bonded. oh gosh. That should be interesting, amusing, immense torture to wait for... the usual. I wonder what that involves... Like if all three are all aware of each other and everything and all of that. One of the first thoughts is that it could really make Tam or Mychael jealous. Though the if one dies, so will the others will be interesting...

Thanks fr the ARC contest (what will I do for that? must figure it out), Tam's snippet, and next Saturday's snippet!

On a side comment, it's great how often you update this. Thanks :) One of my favorite authors' site still says "Cast in Fury - coming in October 2008!" I'm not mad at her or anything, she says she is bad at the computer and I completely understand, but it is nice to have a site that is updated all the time :)

Thank you!!! I've got laryngitis and a wicked cough, but I'l still grinning over that review. No more squeeing though -- it kills my throat. Drinking cups of hot tea one right after the other. ; )

Thank you so much, Anon. for your comment (and thanks) on keeping my website updated! It is a lot of work, and does take up some of my writing time, but I feel that you all deserve a website that's up-to-the-minute current. Webmaster Todd has fixed it so I can update my own NEWS and EVENTS pages. The other pages are too programming intensive for me to do, so Todd takes care of those, but he does so quickly. He's awesome!
