We interrupt our regularly scheduled blog for . . .
I'm crazy busy this week. It's always this way the week before a book release. Plus, I'm on deadline for BEWITCHED & BETRAYED. So today's blog features . . .
Excessive Puppy Cuteness.

This is Lucy our Jack Russell Terrorist using all of her brown-eyed persuasiveness to convince Derek that he wants nothing more than to throw her toy. (That's the black thing in front of her.) For the uninitiated, it's called a Kong (no, it's not a really big accident on the carpet). Kongs come in red and black. The black ones are for "power chewers" like military and police dogs -- or Jack Russell Terrorists named Lucy.
And if you didn't see my blog yesterday, my local Barnes & Noble is making it possible for me to offer signed & personalized copies of my books. If you're interested, scroll down for all the details on how to order.

Lucy is so cute! I'm not really a dog fan, pretty scared of them as I was attacked by one when I was two, but Lucy could change my mind. If I ever get over my fear, I think I'd go for a Jack Russel!
Hey Lisa,
If you need a break from the stress, I have a funny story for you...
Somehow, I never learned to read my months properly (April is not June), nor did I ever learn my numbers properly (2 is not 3). So when I saw your book signing for the 23rd of June, I thought it was the 22nd of April. (I'm going to claim that this mistake is the result of law school induced stress and that my brain has ceased to function properly, because that is the only excuse I can come up with).
Anyway, after my exam yesterday, I went home, changed into something not sweatpants, and headed over to the Cary B&N. I show up about "ten minutes early" and am super proud of myself. I mull around the store for a few minutes, then I see the really nice lady who was in charge of the last book signing (I think it was in September?). I go over and ask her where I'm supposed to go and she gives me a confused look. I explain that I'm here for the "fantasy panel book signing," and she looks more confused and tells me its in June. When we realized what I did, we both got a good laugh out of it. (I'm still laughing about it as I type this.)
So now I have the RIGHT date written on my calender. June 23rd. ;)

Whoops - and to show how clueless I am, my computer just told me today is the 22nd, and yesterday was the 21st.
I take small comfort in getting the "Tuesday" part right.
LOL!!! Emily, I love it! Thank you for sharing with us; it did give me a much-needed laugh. It sounds like something I would do right now. I've got a completely overloaded plate, and I'm at a loss as to how I'm going to get it all done. It might be more manageable if I weren't exhausted. Writing a book's like running a marathon; by the end of the race, you're dragging your tired butt over the finish line before you collapse, throw up, or both. ; ) And having one book coming out and another book on deadline . . .well, let's just say it doesn't make for a well-rested author.
Oh boy. The Look has been diluted through being a photo on the internet and yet I still feel the urge to pick up the Kong and throw it for her. Unless it's all slobbery. My best friend's dog has a red one...it can get kinda gross. I'm a huge pushover when it comes to doggy looks but slobber is its Kryptonite.
