A present for me
I got a true treat in the mail on Thursday -- this gorgeous print of Midwinter that I ordered from the amazing book cover artist Chris McGrath. (Click on the link above for a bigger & better image.)
One, I just love his work. (He does Jim Butcher's covers as well as Rob Thurman's.) And two, the model on the cover of Midwinter absolutely screams "Tam" to me. Oooo, baby! Needless to say, this print was a must have.
I have the book Midwinter by Matthew Sturges next on my TBR stack. It's described as "The Dirty Dozen with elves." How could I resist? ; )
I ordered the print as a treat for myself for TTWD hitting the shelves. Here's another print I want, and when B&B is done, I'm treating myself again. : ) And at only $30 for a signed 13 x 19 print of any of Chris's illustrations, it's one heck of a bargain.
Because Monday is Memorial Day here in the U.S., I'm taking a day off from blogging -- and working like a mad woman on Bewitched & Betrayed. ; ) I'll be back to blogging as usual on Tuesday morning.
Have a great weekend!
Lisa

You too Lisa! I bet you'll make some great project on your book!
That's a really cool print! I hope you enjoy your Memorial Day :)
That print is awesome! It's great to see some appreciation for the wonderful illustrators out there. Speaking of amazing illustrators... does anyone else buy picture books illustrated by K. Craft, so they can drool over the lush artwork, and feel awed, humbled, and a tinge jealous in the face of so much talent?
Wicked!
Here's another cover he did recently for upcoming debut author Kelly Gay.
Kelly Gay first book is due out at the end of November.
Tia,
Ooooo, nice cover! I know Kelly has to be thrilled. Chris does such incredible work -- and is a great guy.
Treats are good! That one looks cool :)
Lisa, could I place a request for a blog topic? A while back you had a series of blogs in which you had a character Q&A. Is there any chance that you could do that again now that TTWD is published?
I have LOADS of questions! ;)
The guy on the print looks just like I always imagine Tam, too!
Lisa, I'd just like to say (having finished re - reading The Trouble With Demons for about the fifth time) that your books ROCK! Especially the most recent - I had several moments when I just laughed out loud. During one chapter (chapter 13) I just had this great big grin on my face because I was enjoying the turn that the plot had taken so much. Thanks for writing such fun books!
There MIGHT be a possibility that I could do that (character Q&A) at some point in the future. I haven't done it for a long time because I discovered that it's INCREDIBLY time intensive. And since after finishing B&B, I have to write proposals/synopsis for the next few Raine books so I can get another book contract, I'll have like zero free time. Once B&B is done, I'll officially be an author without a book contract. So I need to get another book contract for more Raine novels first. So while it's a great request (and everyone really enjoys the Q&A), ask me again toward the end of the summer. I might be able to squeeze it in then. : )
Hi Anon.,
I'm so glad you love my books! And I always like hearing that my work ROCKS. ; )
I picked up the Sturges book and read it over the holiday. It was great so be sure once you make the deadline to get it read.
Regards, Ruth
Those prints really are nice. You pick god treats for yourself. {BIG SMILE}
