Actors/models I visualize while I'm writing

FINALLY, Blogger decided to cooperate. Below are the long-promised photos of actors/models I visualize while I'm writing my books. I just included the main characters. You'll notice that Talon isn't there. Scroll down to yesterday's post for details on the "Find Talon" contest. I'm getting lots of great entries. BTW -- Feel free to enter as many times as you like.

I'm leaving this afternoon to go to the NC mountains for a much needed long weekend at our family cabin. I won't have any Internet access until I get back home late Sunday afternoon. I hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend.

Lisa

A Chris McGrath print/cover for Midwinter. This is the closest to Tam that I've ever seen. And yes, you can buy this print. I have one. ; )

Felicia Day as Raine Benares.

Gerard Butler as Mychael Eiliesor.

A younger Josh Groban as Piaras Rivalin.

Johnny Depp as Phaelan Benares.

Anthony Hopkins as Justinius Valerian.

Jason Issacs as Carnades Silvanus.

Dennis Storhoi as Vegard.

Wow! Only after seeing your suggestions can I see most of these actors as the characters. I can't really see Felicia Day as Raine, though. And I think Richard Fleeshman looks a little more like Piaras to me, but everyone else is spot on! That's just so awesome!

Hmm... I agree with Jo about Raine, however Felicia Day is the most amazing woman ever created so I'll overlook it. :P

Jo, great pic! Josh Groban does it for me as Piaras because of his looks AND that magnificent baritone voice.

Andufus, Felicia is amazing, isn't she? ; )

Johnny Depp as Phaelan. Of course! Why didn't I see it before?

Mychael and Vegard I pictured a bit differently, but everything else is pretty close to what I imagined. And I figure it's okay for readers to see the characters a little differently than how the author sees them. The author's vison of the character's appearance enables him/her to write the character for the reader, who gets to reinvision the character as she wishes.

(I hope that makes sense. Posting before coffee once again.)

I post right after I get up in the morning; it's a wonder I can be coherent (sp?) at that hour.

That picture of Tam is FANTASTIC! And I love the picture of Josh Groban--the expression on his face in that photo really captures how I imagine Piaras.

I love Felicia Day as Raine! Also, now that you say Gerard Butler, that totally works for me :-) I actually didn't have a clear picture in my head of a lot of these characters (I rarely do), but now I might have to do a reread with this window open :) (Any excuse for a reread, right?)

Enjoy your time in the mountains ... I think the N.C. moutains might be one of my favorite retreat places in the world.

Richard Fleeshman is also a singer as well as an actor, but I'm not sure if he's a baritone - all those musicial descriptions confuse me, haha. He's a pretty good singer, though :)

Have a great weekend, Lisa!

I can absolutely see Felicia as Raine. :)

The funny thing is, the casting choices you've made are pretty much lined up with how I visualized the books when reading them. Usually when authors post things like this, it's completely off from what I imagined.

Yeah, my vote is for Felicia Day as Raine.

I actually pictured Adam Baldwin as Vegard but that could just be me.

And speaking of Felicia as Raine, any chance of her doing the audiobooks?

Wow. The picture of Tam is totally right. Cool, and dangerous, and definitely someone you'd rather have as a friend than an enemy. Sorry I didn't post before. Collage just started, and my free time is a little less free. :)

Ok - I knew you were a good writer - but all those actors fit my closely with my mental pictures - so your REALLY doing a good job!

Of course now that I know you visualize Gerard Butler for Mychael I'm really going to want to drool...

I like the pics! I like Felicia as Raine, but strange thing is, I always pictured you as Raine. Don't know why exactly ;-)

Awesome cast!

I must have a thing for minor characters, I love Vegard! And he's way cute.

Now we just need to get you a major movie deal. I'd be more than happy to go watch :0)

Felicia Day would work splendidly as Raine....if they ever make a movie out of your series, I'll be highly disappointed if they cast someone else as Raine (although, with a little makeup, I think Kate Blanchett would work too, if there were some way to make her look a little younger).

Some ideas for Talon:

I adore the series so far! keep writing!

Hi Silver,

WOW, the kid in the bed -- who is THAT? He'd make an amazing Talon.
