Overhauling my website. Suggestions?

I'm meeting with Todd & Elyse (my webmaster & designer) this Saturday morning to discuss the overhaul of my website. Now that I'm about to make the move to four books, my site's starting to get a bit crowded, and some pages are a trifle stagnant. It's time for a fresh look and some new content.

While I'm compiling things that I'd like to do, I'm open to your suggestions as well. What would you like to see on my website? My site exists to spread the word about my books to you, my readers. And I'm trying to be informative, entertaining, and mildly educational at the same time. It's all about you guys. If you have a cool suggestion, either reply to this post or email me before Saturday morning EST.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Lisa

How about a links page? It's not important necessarily, but unless people visit your blog, they don't see the sidebar links. I don't know why anyone wouldn't visit your blog, because it's awesome, but some may not, and might be interested in your "Where I'm At" and "Writers Sites" links. Could be an idea to have those on a seperate page.

Just a suggestion.

Great suggestion, Jo. One thing we're definitely doing is putting my blog on my home page, since that's what the majority of people visit my site for.

I'd agree with Jo about a links page. I also wonder if you might highlight your signings and con appearances. After all, you're a best-selling author; I'm sure people want to meet you in person and get books & such signed.

Do you get much press about the series? If so a "press room" link, like Alton Brown of "Good Eats" has, might also be good.

Definitely include a media or "for bloggers" page, and load it with full resolution cover images, all your links, photo images of varying resolutions, blurbs, banners, and anything else that a member of the media or a blogger might appreciate.

Michelle Moran has the best blogger page I've come across:

Hey,

What about a tag system on the blog? I think a lot of other writers use that so that people can go on and find all the posts about Bewitched & Bewildered or Talon and so on.

Thanks,
Jen

Good idea, Jen. I've been thinking about that for some time. Just too busy to do anything about it.
