NaNo - Day 2 -- New writing toy

It's 7:30 Monday night, and I'm typing this on the cutest thing ever -- my early Christmas present and an uber-cool NaNo tool -- my new Asus Eee PC Netbook! This thing is incredibly tiny and will fit in my purse, so I can write virtually anywhere at anytime. Never again will I have to read bizarre magazines in a doctor or dentist's office.

Have Netbook, will work.

The screen is small; I can only see about 10 lines per page, which is perfect for making me go forward, and not scroll backward to edit. Since I have long, skinny fingers, the keyboard works just fine for me. And the battery is good for 8.5 hours until I'd need to recharge. I'll have to have Derek post a pic of it. It's metallic burgundy -- the exact same color as my Jeep (well . . at least when it's clean).

I'm about 500 words from my goal today of 1700. And I have about an hour to get it done. On Monday night's I treat myself to an hour of TV (about all I get to watch all week). I like Two and a Half Men, but I love The Big Bang Theory. My week's not complete without a dose of Sheldon.

Okay, I'm back to Raine, Mychael, Tam, Phaelan--and the trouble they're in already by the beginning of Chapter 3.

BTW -- Melanie Buck is the 3rd Place Winner of The Trouble With Demons swag contest! Melanie wins the signed keychain, plus I'll be sending her three fridge magnets with each of the books' covers on them. Congratulations, Melanie!

I love the Asus eee's! I got mine two years ago when they first came out (only mine's not a netbook; it's got a 7" screen) just to use for Nano. I love it!

You (and everyone else) are so beating me on the wordcount. I'm going to really settle in today and get some words done.

Asus are fab! I've got the 7 or 10 inch one (can't quite remember). It's not a notebook, and uses Linux. But it introduced me to other forms of word processors! I used to write my first draft on it, then edit on my laptop. But since I no longer have MSOffice, I guess I can use it whenever I like!

I took it to America with me this year, and the flight attendants liked it. I like having something which I can slip in my handbag - I can't write long hand, so this is my digital writing pad.

I've got the turquoise one!

You are doing so great Lisa! And your little Netbook sounds too cute.
I met my daily word count for Day Two with a grand total of 3,386 words.
I am now starting on Day Three and I've only managed 400 words so far to add to my total, leaving me with 3,786. And I have to leave in a few minutes! Meaning I might not be able to work on this again until late. I hope I can do it!

I am happy to say I met the word count. I now have 5,029 words! And boy am I glad that is over. Today I just felt my Muse was dead. I hope tomorrow is better. I'm actually going to a regional write- in. I hear they really help bring up your word count. I hope it works!
