NaNo -- The Half-Way Point

Well, we're about at the half-way point in NaNo, and it's going good for me. Really good. This weekend I logged 3,633 words, for a total word count of 29,284. I'm typing this on Sunday night. I'm pooped, I still have some housework to do and lunches to pack for tomorrow. Then I'm going to go sit in the bathtub and stare at the wall until I turn into a prune. Oh, the bliss.

Since my brain is mush right now (I just wrote a very intense scene and figured out a major plot knot), I'll post a fantasy cover print that I just ordered. It's by Michael Komarck, and it's the cover for Shadow's Return. I started my collection with two Chris McGrath prints, and have now added this one. I've promised myself that I'll only buy prints that I go ga-ga and hubba-hubba over. This guy definitely qualifies. I don't know what you guys think, but I think he looks amazingly like Phaelan. Can't pass up that piece of elf studmuffin. Click on the photo to increase the size of your studmuffin enjoyment.

Congrats on your wordcount, Lisa!

That is a great print! I think he lots a little more evil than Phaelan - and he looks a little old. I think I imagine pretty much all the characters as looking younger than they are. Bar Piaras and Talon, the major characters are all in their early twenties in my head, looks-wise. I don't know why, lol.

Guys with knives, can you really go wrong with pirates?

Congrats on the word count!

Thank you, Liana & Jo!

I agree, Jo. He looks more evil than Phaelan. But I figure this is his "You hurt my family, prepare to die" look. ; )

:) I love the print. I can see him as Phaelon -at least, he's got the piratic look down- but I do picture Phaelon as a bit more happy-go-lucky. I'm so glad your writing is going well. Definitely cause for some relaxation and limp-noodleness.

its great, i can see it sorta, like a phalean gone evil, personally i liked the winter print better but this one is amazing too

Also, i was going through all of my word documents today (def. of bored) and i was wondering to myself, i wonder if any other writers have small two or three pages of like the beginnings of what you know will be a great book but you cant get the words down fast enough and you give up

Hi Rachel, I have tons of 2-3
page scenes, but if I don't use them immediately it's because they don't fit in what I'm writing yet, not because I don't get the ideas fast enough. I just keep writing these "rogue scenes" into my notes file, knowing that I'll use them eventually. I have scenes for Raine books that I wrote six years ago. THey're just sitting in my notes file -- waiting.
