NaNo -- On the edge of victory . . . maybe
First of all, for those of you having NaNo problems, scroll down to yesterday's "Quagmire" blog post, go to the Comments and read Tori's comment -- and my response. We're ALL having the same problems -- me included. But we can DO THIS, folks! (The reason why I'm not posting it all here is that I can Copy it, but Blogger won't let me Paste. Grrrr.)
Okay, back to my regularly scheduled post written last night. . .
Tuesday NaNo word count = I dunno. I'm doing the pen & notepad thing right now. Will type it all into my computer once my muse and I duke out our plot disagreements.
Total NaNo word count = Officially still at 40, 996 (see above re pen & notepad).
Words to go to 50K = 9004.
I've been working late at my day job, working through lunch most days, which leaves me about 2-3 hours in the evenings to make my daily word count. Let's just say getting blood from a rock would be easier. But writing a book in six months isn't about easy -- it's about being freakin' crazy.
And loving what I do.
Even though sometimes it dang near drives me crazy . . . and to insomnia, and to the point of exhaustion, and to waking up at three AM. But it all goes back to . . .
I LOVE what I do -- and you do too, otherwise you wouldn't be doing it.
So come hell or high water (or pulling some all-nighters) I WILL make my 50K word count by midnight on Monday, November 30.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the U.S., and I'm going to take the day off from writing (though I'll be hitting it on Thanksgiving night). And since I'm behind, my blogging will be sporatic (perhaps non-existent) until the end of NaNo. I dunno. I can't predict it one way or the other. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, well . . . love ya, mean it and I'm here cheering you on even though you can't see or hear me, or possibly not read about me doing it. I'm here for you, folks.
But Friday through Sunday, my nose will be to the grindstone -- or as some of my writing buddies say "balls to the wall" or "tits to the tile" (depending on your anatomical construction) -- until I cross the 50K finish line.
Good luck and good writing.
I'll see you all across the finish line,
Lisa

You can do it!
... I have advice for new writers getting through NaNo but I'm not sure what you need for a series that's already out there. Hmmm. Just keep writing. You'll be fine :o)
Keep going! Let Raine speak to you :)
Yes, you can do it. {Smile} One friend made NaNo twice, despite a health fragile enough, she factored several sick days into her initial calculations. Another came from farther behind than this, and made the deadline. If they can do it, you can, too. {Smile}

Oh, I just remembered something the friend with the fragile health learned when a workshop asked her to write a story in a week. If you're stuck "enough," shift to synopsis mode, and describe what-ought-to-go-here in as much detail as comes easily until you reach the other side of the stuck section. If your story isn't too close to the end, you will reach the other side of the stuck patch. Then you can start writing normally again. {SMILE}

Thank you, ladies! It's starting to go much better. I'm gonna make it.
youll get there, i have faith in that, im physced because ive expanded some of the little starts in my folder, whoo now i dont have nearly as many stories running through my head all day (hard to take SATs with that plotline stuck in your head)
You can do this Lisa! I'm about 3k behind you but I'm not giving up. Tomorrow is strictly writing day, even if I am forced to write in my notebook until I get a chance to get on the computer.
Good Luck Everyone! (From someone who isn't doing Nano, but is cheering all of you who are.)
