My notepad scribblings

Here are a couple of pages from the notepad scribbling I'm always talking about. (You can click on the photo to make it bigger.) I keep these pages just like I do every other bit of paper connected with my books. All I can say is, God bless the inventor of the big plastic storage bin. ; )
BTW -- If you're in the U.S., I think today is the last day for early voting in the states that offer it. (Fortunately North Carolina was one of them. Derek & I voted last week.) And if you didn't or can't vote early, be sure to get to the polls on Tuesday. This election is too important for you not to let your voice be heard. Go vote! : )
Some of what's coming in the next week or so:
- Today Derek & I started on Nutrisystem. I'm writing the first draft of a book and I'm on a diet -- this isn't gonna be pretty. ; )
- How to keep a story believable
- Revisions are important
- Write something, because you can't fix a blank page
- Authors are business people, too
- Writing yourself out of a plot hole
- Need inspiration? Look into your characters' pasts and air that dirty laundry. ; )
- Listen to your readers
Have a great weekend!

Nutri System: Loved their food. Hated their "motivation" classes.
They kept telling us to think of how we'd look in a swim suit - didn't do a thing for me. After all, a walrus is a walrus is a walrus. (Talk about cabbages and kings! Heh!)
"You can't fix a blank page" - True, but you can always spill a bottle of ink on it! - or -
.. write the word "The" and then take a long break. - or -
.. pick a scrabble letter for the start of your first word - you can change it 26 times.
I love the creative mind set of the "You can't fix a blank page" - it's just enough of a twist to get you thinking.
There's always another viewpoint. e.g. "Michaelangelo ruined a perfectly good block of marble to carve his statue of David."
Enjoy!...... MQH, Himself - Happy November the oneth.
LOL. MQH, I always love hearing from you. ; )
And as to the NutriSystem: love the food, providing my own motivation. ; ) I figure since I write books for a living I've got plenty of motivation, discipline, and goal-oriented behavior. No need for phone calls to NutriSystem headquarters. I've been on it one day and have lost one pound. Woot!
Oh come their motivation classes are fun!, good food, aside from the powdered eggs. Lost 20 pounds!!!! I was happy and ditched the next class. ;) love the blank page ideas mqh! lol like the michaelangelo joke. ;) still most of my best stuff comes in the detist ffice, their drilling yor teeth and your writing a book in your head. ;)
Really looking forward to this week's blog! Lots of cool things going on.
Blank page - I yell at my muse, and write.
No idea about Nutri-system, but I know I'm being careful over the next few months to lose a few lbs.
Just finished packing my NutriSystem food for the week to take to work with me tomorrow: breakfast entrees, plus lunch entrees, plus dairy, plus protein, plus fruit, plus . . . dang, I feel like I'm stocking a Mt. Everest base camp. But I'll be well-fed and therefore happy -- and that's the important thing.
