Hiking at Hebron Colony Falls

This weekend, Derek & I did some hiking at Hebron Colony Falls near Blowing Rock, NC. One of his co-workers told him about it, and some of the rocks are unbelievably massive. Photos don't do them justice. Next time we're bringing the proper footwear so we can climb higher. Running shoes just didn't cut it. It starts out as an innocent-looking little river with stepping stones, and just gets bigger from there. Beautiful place!

Tomorrow it's back to writing-related posts. I don't know what I'll be writing about yet; stop back by tomorrow and find out. ; )

Beautiful, yes. Relaxing. . .uh not so much. Between the gasping and wheezing from the climbing, and being paranoid about rattlesnakes (yes, we do have them in NC) -- it wasn't relaxing, but it was fun. Next time, we'll have proper boots and hike higher toward the real falls. ; )
