An evening in the life of a writer

For those of you who are curious how a writer with a full-time job spends the time between when they leave the day job and start their evening writing, the following is pretty much how it goes for me:
  • Drive home from the office
  • Potty dogs
  • Feed dogs
  • Potty dogs again
  • Give antibiotic to girl greyhound
  • Give cookies for all dogs because greyhound took her pill nicely
  • Feed cat
  • Feed humans
  • Do two loads of laundry
  • Pick up turds that 19-year-old cat left as a welcome-home gift in my office
  • Give cat catnip to keep her occupied
  • Forgot that cat "talks" non-stop when she gets stoned
  • Reminds self never to give elderly cat catnip again
Begin writing.

I missed this one Saturday--very funny, especially your talking, stoned cat. :) I have an elderly cat who leaves me "presents" too. At least he goes near the litterbox, even if not in it.

You should probably write about dogs, you know. :)

This sounds like my evenings-- except for the cat parts. It's more like "let the dogs out, let the dogs in. let the dogs out, let the dogs in." So yeah, I can relate.
